Match-funding of the private sector is an important aspect for the successful realization of the program’s objectives. In total, the Congo Basin Program has a budget of 3 million euro which shall be doubled to 6 million euro with private sector match-funding.
Certification trajectory
Depending on the size of the concession and the current level with regard to Sustainable Forest Management, the concession holders in progress towards FSC certification can expect to receive an amount of co-funding in the following ranges.*

Market development
On top of the abovementioned amounts, the maximum additional amount for market develepment activities is €7,500 per project. This amount applies to both supply chain optimization and the set-up of a (semi-)commercial partnership between a company and a small producer.
